Heather O’Neill is a dedicated and compassionate Master’s Level Student Intern at the Counseling Center of New Smyrna Beach with a strong commitment to serving her community. She has a Bachelor of Social Work from Aurora University and plans to continue her journey of becoming a licensed clinical social worker. Having lived in New Smyrna Beach for over a decade, Heather understands the unique needs and challenges faced by local residents.
Before pursuing her master’s degree in counseling, Heather spent fifteen years working in healthcare. Her experience in healthcare settings provided her with valuable insights into the complexities of human behavior, resilience, and the importance of holistic well-being.
Heather firmly believes in the power of strengths-based counseling. She recognizes that every individual possesses inherent strengths and resilience. She strives to empower her clients by helping them tap into these strengths to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Heather's approach is collaborative and client-centered, recognizing that each individual is unique and deserves personalized care tailored to their specific needs and goals. She is dedicated to building trusting and therapeutic relationships with her clients, guiding them through their struggles with empathy, respect, and genuine care.
